Terms of Service
Effective 11 July 2026
1. What Meesaq is
Meesaq is a Shia matrimonial introduction service operating under recognized Ithna Ashari (Twelver) personal law. The platform helps adult members discover one another, express mutual interest, communicate, and document their intended terms. Meesaq facilitates introductions only. It does not perform, solemnize, or officiate any nikah, and nothing on this platform constitutes a religious ruling. For religious questions, consult your marja or a qualified scholar.
2. Who may use it
You must be 18 years of age or older. This is a strict requirement with no exceptions, enforced at registration and in our systems. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally capable of entering into this agreement, and that the information you provide is truthful.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure. One account per person. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which permanently erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Conduct
You agree not to:
- misrepresent your identity, age, or marital circumstances;
- post or send content that is obscene, harassing, defamatory, hateful, or unlawful under Indian law;
- use the platform for commercial solicitation, escort services, or anything other than genuine matrimonial introduction;
- share another member's photos, messages, or personal details outside the platform without their consent;
- attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours, or to probe, disrupt, or overload the service.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Members can report conduct from within any conversation; reports are reviewed by our moderators.
5. The service is provided as-is
We work hard to keep Meesaq safe and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we cannot verify every statement members make to each other. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment in interactions, including meeting anyone in person. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meesaq disclaims liability for disputes between members and for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
6. Fees
Meesaq is currently free to use. If paid features are ever introduced, they will be clearly announced and these terms updated first.
7. Governing law and grievances
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Complaints and grievances are handled per our Grievance Redressal page, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
